I’m often asked which plugins I use on my self-hosted wordpress blogs, so in response here’s a list of my favorite widgets for use on any website, wordpress or otherwise. Please feel free to chime in with your own favorites in the comments.

Must Have Real Estate Website Widgets & Plugins

1. Open House Traffic Creator

You do a blog post about an open house… And this plugin automatically sends an email to everyone living within 10 miles of the open house. Your traffic will soar!

2. Expired listing prospector.

Tell this widget your zip code and it’ll simultaneously ring your phone and the phone of the owner of any listing that expires at exactly 9am on the day of expiration. Prospecting for listings has never been this easy.

3. Invisible Friender

You configure this widget by telling it a few things about yourslef and your real estate practice, then feed it your Twitter And Facebook logins. This app will then “friend” or follow one person on each network daily and also post something related to you and/or your real estate service area. Social Media Marketing? Yeah, in overdrive!

4. Contract Negotiating Real Estate Widget

You feed this widget the terms of your agreement of sale and it handles the back and forth for you. It starts by sending the seller a message that reads “what’s your counter offer?”

5. Auto listing servicer.

This one requires that you also give your seller a Magicam Re9000 to place at his or her heating return vent. What this nifty little widget does is amazing! As the Magicam gathers information from the property’s circulating air, it alters the asking price of the property and updates both your MLS system and your website based on the sellers current state of mind and motivation relative to when he or she originally listed the property. Huge time saver! Never beg for a price reduction again.

6. E-Settlement Gift Purchaser

You feed this widget a number from 1 to 10 indicating the level of “PITA” displayed by your client, and it sends out a bot that crawls popular online shopping sites and picks out and emails an appropriate closing gift. The nice clients get bottles of wine and gift cards to TGI Fridays, the real PITA’s get something from this site.

7. Broker Smack Down Widget

This widget sends your broker An “I’m gonna go to KW ” email every time he gets a litle too greedy. All you have to do is include the secret word, “fee” in an email or a blog post and this widget sends the warning email.

8. Auto Internet Lead Responder.

This widget uses Voice To Text technology and is triggered whenever someone registers or sends a comment via your site. It automatically sends an email and a phone message to the registrant that says… “Hi thanks for visiting my website! I’m such a good agent that I’ve got closings back to back for the next 4 days so I’ll get back to you when I have a chance to come up for air.” You’ll never get a complaint about your response time again.

9. Bogus Name & Email Detector

This one works hand in hand with the last one and is a real must have. It takes any bogus website registrations that you receive and forwards them to the colleagues that you like to forward stuff to. So next time Heywood Jablome or Eric T Midget registers for your IDX search, your pal will get the bogus lead and a quick nonproductive 15 minutes of forwarding the registration to all his friends.

10. Active Rain Auto Commenter

And of course. The bestest for lastest. The “Active Rain Auto Commenter” comes in both a free and a paid version. Both versions query the Active Rain Featured Post Feeds and drops a comment from you whenever keywords you specify are mentioned. With the free version, your comment simply says “Nice post. I agree. ” With the paid version you also get a nofollow link back to your site. Seo Yummy!

So, are you interested in downloading these and using them on your own site? Feel free to contact me for the download links.

And thanks for reading!

Thanks!

Here’s a quick way to help keep those pesky “What’s Going On” calls from Sellers to a minimum:

If you’re acting like the fiduciary that you are, you’re undoubtedly using a service like Realbird or Property Buzzer for setting up single property websites for each of your listings, right?

Well, here’s an easy, passive way to tell the seller of the property about the activity on that Single Property Website:

“Get Clicky” – The Perfect Web Analytic Solution For Real Estate Agents

Get Clicky boasts a nice, long set of features, including:

A WordPress Plugin For Integration With Your Blog

Nifty Widgets For Your Site, Like The One In Our Sidebar

Twitter Integration

Real Time Data, And The Ability To “Spy” On Your Visitors

But the coolest feature as we see it, is the ability to daily emailed traffic reports sent out to you and your clients!

Yep, that’s right. With GetClicky, once you set up your Single Property Website for a property, and start driving traffic to it from Social Media, Google Adwords, Facebook Ads, Youtube, and a host of other places, you can have your seller receive an email report every morning that shows him/her what a good job your doing of exposing the property to the 90% of buyers out there who are starting on the internet!

Here below is an example report – Head on over to GetClicky or “ReQuestulous” for more details.

I was looking for a real estate countdown widget yesterday, in order to dress up a post my CentralPaLiving.Com partner Walt Wensel wrote about the first time homebuyer tax credit expiring.

Couldn’t find one, but as I searched, I noticed that Widgetbox.Com jas a pro membership feature that allows you to build custom widgets based on stuff others have created. So, not as good as actually putting together your own stuff, but if you want to create a real estate widget on the fly, and can’t find one… well, the service comes in kinda handy.

But here’s what I’m wondering. I know that housing a widget created in this way could be an ok link baiting strategy, especially if it’s got the potential to appeal to a lot of web site owners [i.e. real estate agents with websites,] but will the links embedded in the widget get followed, or is that a no go because it’s embedded in javascript? Yeah, I no… probably not as confirmed by this page generated by the “what google sees tool” at seo-browser.com.

Doesn’t matter, I still think an $8,000 Tax Credit Countdown Widget was a pretty nifty idea? Will you use it on your site to try to scare on the fence buyers into making a move? [Walt and I are giving it a try, with a little video pressure applied for good measure on our new central pa real estate search page.]

If you want to give my/widgetbox’s new Real Estate First Time Home Buyer Tex Credit Countdown Widget A Try, here it is. Just click on “get widget” at the bottom…

Get the Countdown Creator Pro widget and many other great free widgets at Widgetbox!

[If you were thinking "What is A good Widget to add to my Real Estate website," I hope I've answered your question?]
