Set An Image As Post Thumbnail (WordPress 2.9.2)
Here’s a quick image explaining how to access the media gallery, then set one of the pics associated with a page/post in wordpress as the Thumbnail.

You can see this thumbnail concept in action over at BeniahInvestments.Com…
Also, if you’re looking for a theme that allows for easy customization of post thumbnails, consider Frugal!

For me the Use as Thumbnail button is not displaying
Martin, are you upgraded to wordpress 2.92?
Some older themes seem to over ride the display of the thumbnail (I notice it quite a bit with paid premium themes that used to do some custom coding stuff to make thumbnails work before it became standard functionality).
Haven’t figured out all the scenarios yet myself, but frankly this particular item was and remains a bit of a pain in the neck. Not one of the better additions to WordPress
Brett — Good to know… I’m not having much trouble with it when using the Frugal theme, but that’s probably because of the native thumbnail support that’s built in…
I too did not see the thumbnail button, at first…CLICK on image > edit image > lower right Thumbnail-Radio button
