Love GoDaddy For Domains… Not Good For WordPress Real Estate Site Hosting
If you’re going to take a ReTechulous approach to your real estate lead generation efforts, WordPress, is going to prove to be an amazing tool for you.
As such, you’ll find that you’ll save a lot of time and pain by choosing a wordpress friendly host. Yesterday, I did a post about Hostgator, which is currently my hands down favorite host for creating a network of wordpress based Real Estate sites.
Today, I have a client who’s requested that I use the hosting account he’s paying for on GoDaddy to create his WordPress based Short Sale niche site. Bummer!
With Hostgator, you get the luxury of being able to install wordpress in one click using Fantastico.
With GoDaddy, you’ve got to do the install manually. Not a huge deal… once you have the hang of this process you can usually get it done in 5-10 minutes. But….
I’m chilling here writing this post about 8 minutes after attempting to create a mysql database in Godaddy. Appears it takes a little time for the DB to be created. Shiteballs!
Ok, so maybe I’m being impatient… but all things being equal, the 1 click install is just preferable.
Still love GDaddy for Domains though! Especially the part where you get to peep Danica on every login!
NOTE: Shortly after writing this, I discovered that Godaddy does have a built in install script for wordpress. That said, you still have to wait for the install to be completed which seems to take at least a few minutes.Details on quickly installing wordpress for your real estate webiste via Godaddy here.
