Facebook Page Badge – A Good Way To “List Build” On Your Real Estate Website?
We’re not sure, but we’re going to give it a try…You’ll notice our own recently created page badge being sported today at the top right of ReTechulous.Com, and our usual “Subscribe via Email” Aweber based subscription box is missing.
Here’s what we’re thinking:
1. The number of people who frequently use Facebook is huge (of course), so the Facebook brand and color scheme of the box should draw the eye.
2. Becoming a “Fan” is easier than entering an email address. One click and you’re done.
3. Maybe the faces of our fans sorta tell people “Hey, People Like This Site, Maybe You Should To”?
4. Our Facebook Page is streaming our latest content anyway via RSS, so from an incubation standpoint, there’s not much difference between regularly landing people on the page rather than hitting them with an email. (We haven’t tried the Facebook page broadcast feature yet… guess we should)
5. Every time we view our own site, we’re randomly reminded of another face we might want to make another contact with.
6. Learning about new friends is as easy as clicking on the face and jumping into a stream. Can’t do this with just an email opt…
I’m sure there will be other aspects of this little F’ing (facebooking) experiment, and we’ll be sure to update with some results/findings over the coming weeks. Or…
Just become a fan, check in regularly and watch to see whether or not the crispy blue box up there is attracting lotsa other folks like you!
