Wordpress Can Be Tough For Real Estate Agent Newbies

About 2 years ago, after some resistance, I was turned on to wordpress by web designer and SEO guy, John Oppenheimer, who insisted that wordpress was a better alternative to Typepad because of the depth of online support available.

Well, John was dead on, and I thank him for pushing me on this issue, but man, learning the wordpress ropes was frustrating and I cursed the decision lotsa times early on. But what I found was that at every turn, whenever I thought I was hitting a roadblock, I could google “xyz wordpress” and get an answer to any number of questions I had.

One of the biggest initial struggles was learning how to load up themes, design them, and make all the html/css tweaks involved in bending my site exactly the way I want it. I know that a lot of my real estate friends have the same problem, and sadly, most give up, instead of just consulting google for the answer to their next little obstacle. Many quit before even writing their first blog post. (Thus Active Rain I guess…)
